Thompson makes rallying call to Arnett teammates

After returning from the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship, Arnett Gardens FC have only managed to pick up four points from seven games in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL). This leaves captain O'Neil 'Bigga' Thompson hoping internal issues at the club will be resolved soon.

Thompson, however, pointed out that despite their administrative woes having a negative impact on the team, the players cannot afford to wait until the smoke is clear for them to play.

"It has played its part because there are a lots of players who have not been playing based on the situation and are sitting out until it's resolved. Nevertheless, we will keep fighting until that happens. If we should wait until the problem is solved, and it isn't until the end of the season, we could be out of the play-offs. We are trying to keep ourselves in contention to retain our title," said Thompson.

When asked about Arnett's prospects of defending the title, Thompson, who is hoping their internal issues are resolved soon, told STAR Sports that he knows it will be no easy feat. However, he said that if the players can all come together and work hard, it is very possible.

"People are starting to realise that not participating is only damaging the team, so I think they will now come out and work hard, as we are used to. We haven't had a lot of training sessions because of the situation (administrative issues), but, hopefully, we can improve that," Thompson said.
