Following a disappointing showing in the Class Two 1500 metres on Wednesday, Edwin Allen High's Cemore Donald said she is very determined to win gold in the 800 metres on tomorrow's final day of the 2018 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships.

Donald, the defending 1500m champion, crashed out of the event three days ago, after she was clipped on her heel..

However, the 17-year-old Donald, who is also the defending champion in the 800m, told STAR Sports that she has put her 1500m disappointment behind her and she is looking forward to retaining her title in the 800m event.

"I am very determined because I am just going out there to do my best, and once I produce my best, then I know that I will get the gold medal," said Donald, who won her semi-final heat yesterday to go into the final with the fastest time, 2:13.55.

"I am carrying a hamstring injury, but it is not going to stop me from doing my best for my school," she said. "It (injury) has affected me a lot, but I am determined to do my best and make sure that I give my school maximum points in this event," she said.

The final of the event is scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
