Faulkland won that game 2-0 and won the second leg 2-1.

Trelawny Reggae Youths FC and Faulkland FC both secured wins in their respective games in the double-header semi-finals of the JFF Western Confederation/Charley's JB Rum Super League at the Elleston Wakeland Centre in Falmouth.

But the coaches of both teams are focused on managing the second-leg matches set for May 6 at Jarrett Park in order to book their spots in the final.

In the first match, Dshane Russell's 67th-minute goal saw Reggae Youths getting the better of parish rivals Wadadah FC 1-0.

Coach of Reggae Youths Oscar Ervin believes their pregame plan to strike on the counter-attack paid off. But he said it is not set for them yet as they have 90 more minutes to manage.

"Yes, next two weeks we are going into the game (second leg) with the lead, but we have to let the players know one-nil is no lead for us to become comfortable," said Ervin.

In the second match, Faulkland were 2-0 winners over Harmony FC of Trelawny courtesy of early strikes from the ever-consistent Ronaldo McLeish (in the seventh minute) and Courtney Allen (27th).

Coach of Faulkland Gregory Palmer said preparation was key.

But even as the team returns to Jarrett Park, the venue they used as their home ground this season, he said proper management of the game is needed.

"Basically, we would have a two-goal cushion going into the next leg, so we know they are going to come at us as they have nothing to lose. We just have to definitely manage the game. Once we are able to do that and get another goa,l then we should finish them off and kill the game completely," said Palmer.
