Coach Omar Edwards said he will be back at Tivoli Gardens next season with an aggressive approach to lead the West Kingston-based side to the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) title.

Edwards told STAR Sports in an interview on April 5, after his team was knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the RSPL by Cavalier at the Edwards Seaga Complex, that he was considering walking away from the team. This was after loud calls from a section of the crowd for Edwards to be removed from his post following the 2-0 defeat.

However, Edwards has since had change of heart and he said that he will be returning for his third stint at the club.

"I will be back for next season because I have been in several dialogues with the club it and that went well," said Edwards.

"This is my third stint with the club and in my first year and we have managed to gain tremendous success by making the team very competitive," he said.

"We quickly got into the play-offs within my first year and we won the Jackie Bell Knockout competition during that year," Edwards said. "In the second year we improved significantly where we move from fifth to third in the overall point standings."

Edwards added that things did not pan out the way he expected it to last season, so they are planning to put in a lot of hard work in the summer to ensure that they are very successful next season.

"My aim is to challenge for the title because within my first two years, I have managed to make the team very competitive and in the third year we want to go after the title," Edwards said.

Tivoli Gardens last won the National Premier League title in 2010.
