President of the St Elizabeth FA Patrick Malcolm hands over the Major League trophy to New Holland FC, the champions of the St Elizabeth Football Association Major League, on Sunday.

A Kadeem Stone brace - 38th and 44th minute - helped New Holland FC capture the St Elizabeth Football Association Major League title over Goshen FC at STETHS Sports complex on Sunday.

New Holland FC secured victory by a margin of 2-1. They have now advanced to the South-Central Super League, which is one level below the National Premier League.

"We will have to scout and get personnel because we are short in some of the areas. However, I think we have a talented bunch of young players that we can definitely build our team around," said Vince-Roy Blake, coach of New Holland.

Rashane Grant (55th) scored the consolation for Goshen.

Blake was happy that his team was able to get the better of its opponent, which beat them 1-0 on two previous occasions.

"It has been a rough season for us, having our ups and downs, but the guys stuck to the task. They believed in themselves, and we believe in them and know that we could have taken this title," said Blake.

Patrick Malcolm, president of the St Elizabeth Football Association, has made a call for sponsors to partner with the FA to help grow football in the parish.

"We had no sponsors this year. The St Elizabeth FA dealt with the football competition and all its finances. We are hoping that corporate Jamaica will come back to our rescue. We have been doing our rounds and hoping sponsorship will come later this year. If not, it's going to be another difficult year for football in St. Elizabeth," said Malcolm.
