Andrew Peart, coach of defending champions Jamaica College (JC), has warned his rivals that his team will be very difficult to beat once they hit top form in this year's ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competition.

JC, who are seeking their sixth straight hold on the title, are now sole leaders of Group F, following their 3-2 victory over Hydel in their top-of-the-table clash on Saturday at the Caymanas Field.

In fact, the Dark Blues, who are unbeaten this season, had to work very hard for the three points, after the first half of the game ended 1-1.

However, they took control of the second stanza and outplayed their opponents to claim the victory.

Peart told STAR Sports that he is pleased with the progress of his team's performances so far this season, but warned that they are still not at their best as yet.

"We haven't hit top form as yet," said Peart. "It is work in progress because it is a long season and we are just at the end of September and so we have two and half months of football left to play," said Peart, who took over the reins as head coach ahead of this season following the departure of Miguel Coley, who now serves as technical director of the programme.

"It would be worrying if we had already hit top form and so are working towards it," he said.

Peart added the his players have been working very hard in training and he is optimistic that they will do well in the remainder of the season.

There is no concern with anyone in the team and like I said, the goals that we conceded against Hydel today (Saturday), I was a little disappointed with them, but the overall performance of the match was excellent," Peart pointed out.

JC are so far undefeated in their six games this season, winning all five games since their 1-1 draw with Hydel in their season-opener in Montego Bay. JC has scored 27 times this season and have let in three goals. Only Kingston College and St Catherine High (0) and Camperdown (1) have conceded less goals so far this season.

The competition continues today with six games.

Second placed Charlie Smith will continue their hint for top honours in Group C when they travel to Jonathan Grant looking to close the five point gap on leaders Camperdown, who are idle today.

Group G leaders Wolmer's and second placed team Holy Trinity will play Edith Dalton and Pembroke Hall respectively in another set of interesting games.
