Anthony Patrick, head coach at St Catherine High School, said they will not be taking St Mary's College lightly when both teams meet in Group E of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competition.

St Catherine, who reached the quarter-finals of last year's competition, lead the group with 18 points from six matches. They are followed by Excelsior (15), Haile Selassie (10), St Mary's College (three), with Penwood and Oberlin both on two points each.

Patrick's boys have been in impressive form all season and are proving to be one of the strongest teams in the competition having scored 36 goals, without conceding. In fact, they join Kingston College as the only teams to have kept clean sheets in all their games.

In their encounter earlier this season, St Catherine were awarded full points after St Mary's College turned for the game without their identification cards.

EXPECT ANYTHING

However, the coach said he is expecting a tough game from their opponents especially given that they are playing at home.

"We are looking forward to this game because it is not going to be an easy one," said Patrick. "We are playing away from home and so you have to expect anything with those pitches in the rural areas. We are going there for three points and to see if we can get some goals."

He added that he is pleased with his team's performance so far this season and that they are determined to meet their targets this year.

"Our attacking unit have been scoring the goals, but our backline have also been scoring too whenever they come up into the game, and so I am very pleased about this so far," Patrick said. "We have been doing great as a team so far and so we just have to continue doing what we have been doing, because we have set out some targets which we hope to achieve this season."

St Catherine will be depending heavily on striker Marcovich Brown, who has netted 13 goals so far this season. He is expected to receive support from Javaughn Cole, Ashani Brown, and Jahmari Henry.

In the group's other games, Oberlin will host Excelsior and Penwood entertain Haile Selassie at Cling Cling Oval.
