Focused Herbert Morrison looking to rebound

Lecroft Letman, coach of Herbert Morrison Technical High School, said they are looking to handle their end of business in order to hold their automatic qualification spot when they host William Knibb Memorial High School in the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup today.

Herbert Morrison, which are on 12 points, sit second in Zone C behind Cedric Titus High School, who boast a six-point lead on their rivals. Spot Valley, who will be visiting Cedric Titus, are on nine points in third place.

Letman, who believes simple mistakes lead to their recent 4-2 defeat to Cedric Titus High School, said there is still some work to be done in front of goal if they are to get better results.

"After the game (against Cedric Titus), the boys realised that they were the ones who beat themselves due to some silly little mistakes that they made on Saturday. In Monday's training, the spirit was really high as they were just optimistic and ready for (today's) game," said Letman.

"William Knibb is hot and cold but if you realise in the zone alongside Cedric Titus, we have scored the most goals, so we have firepower up front. Finishing is still our main problem because we are creating the chances so we are still working on that. If we can get that right, it will be a plus for us," he added.

ADVANCE FROM ZONE

When asked about where they see themselves at the end of the round, Letman said his only concern is to advance from a zone that could be a fight to the finish if they slip up.

"At the end of the round, we just want to ensure that we are in it. As we said from the start of the season, we are taking each game step by step. After the William Knibb game, we will see where the standing lies. At this point in time, we don't expect a team to drop their wings because everyone is in it for a fight.

"It's a ding-dong battle in this zone... so we just have to do our work. We have two home games and one away so...," he added.

In a game played yesterday, Lennon blanked Thompson Town 3-0.
