EDINBURG, Texas (AP):

Jody Brown scored a hat-trick as Jamaica routed Cuba 9-0 last night to book a spot in the semi-finals of the CONCACAF women's World Cup qualifying tournament.

Brown got her goals in the 26th, 38th and 72nd minutes.

Sashana Campbell added a pair of goals (30th and 75th), while Khadija Shaw (2nd), Deneisha Blackwood (50th, penalty), and Marlo Sweatman (82nd) also scored for the Reggae Girlz.

The already qualified Canada proved too strong for Costa Rica in the night's second game and ran out 3-1 winners.

Canada topped the Group B with maximum nine points, Jamaica were second on six. Costa Rica (three) and Cuba (0) were eliminated.

The top two finishers in the group advanced to play the winners and runners-up from Group A. The United States topped the latter group with nine points, while Panama were second on six.

In Sunday's semi-finals, Panama will face Canada before the United States oppose Jamaica in Frisco, Texas.

The third place play-off and final are set for next Wednesday.

The top three finishers in the tournament will earn CONCACAF's spots in the 2019 Women's World Cup in France. The fourth-place team will meet Argentina in a play-off for a berth.

The Reggae Girlz have never been to a World Cup.
