Lynval Wilson, coach of Lacovia High School, who are in a must-win situation for today's game against hosts St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), says they are relishing the challenge for them to get to the second round of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup.

Lacovia, on 14 points in third, are just one point off Maggotty High School, who will be in action against Munro College, who is out of contention. STETHS, who have already qualified for the second round of the competition as zone leaders will be looking for a win to at least keep their potential third seed.

"I think we are in good spirits. They know what they are up against as we have played this STETHS team before. They know that a win tomorrow would give us passage into the second round, so that's what we are looking for," said Wilson.

"When you play against a former champion like STETHS, I think self-motivation comes into play. Every time they play a quality team, the standard of the game is always higher. The boys look forward to playing against a quality team," he added.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER

Lacovia bounced back from their 1-0 lost to Maggotty in their opening game of the competition and since then have gone three wins and five drawn, results including a 1-1 in their previous encounter with STETHS.

Wilson, who will be banking on in-form striker Rajae Wright for today's crucial encounter, said fixing their scoring problem from the start was key. In their last five games, Lacovia have netted 14 of their overall tally of 17 goals.

Over in Zone J, hosts Brimmervale and St Mary Tech, who are both locked on 17 points, will go head to head for a chance to qualify for the next round. Also in a similar position in Zone G with 15 points each are Alston, who will be hosting Spalding.
