Despite crashing out of the ISSA/WATA DaCosta Cup in the second round on Saturday to number 32 seed Mile Gully High School, Linvern Wright, principal of last season winners Rusea's High School is backing his coach, Vassell Reynolds.

After the game last Saturday, Reynolds came under harsh criticism from the fans. Rusea's lost 4-4 on the away goals rule.

However Wright said that he is confident that Reynolds won't be going anywhere.

"Remember 'fans' comes from the word 'fanatic'; they will move from 100 to zero in a jiffy. So that's not something that I am concerned about," said Wright.

He said that the spectators' response to not advancing was not strange, especially for a side like Rusea's that has a history of winning.

NO REAL CONCERN

"Even the very fans that were talking afterwards were laughing and saying, 'Sir, a suh wi stay'. They just expect that they should win it every single year," he added.

He admitted that people were disappointed but there was no real concern.

"In the nature of how Jamaicans are, they express their disappointment in ways that we find unpalatable, but I am not concerned that he will go or anything like that. We have enough of a tradition ... I don't worry. It's just the nature of the situation," he said.

Reynolds, who is also the coach of Red Stripe Premier League outfit Montego Bay United, recently decided not to travel with the junior Reggae Boyz next month to focus on schoolboy football and try to attend to his ill father.
