Having last won the ISSA Champions Cup (formerly Super Cup) competition in 2014, Jamaica College's (JC) head coach Andrew Peart said his team is determined to put on a good showing in a push for the title this season.

The Dark Blues put on a clinical performance at the Stadium East field on Saturday to defeat Mile Gully 4-0 and secure their spot in the quarter-finals, where they will meet Holy Trinity.

Peart, who took over at JC in the summer following the departure of Miguel Coley, said that his team is highly motivated and that he is very confident that they will stage a strong challenge for the title.

"Our plan is to win each game we play, and so, we have a competition to play, and so, we have to honour it by performing at our best," said Peart.

"It is games, and once you play games, you want to do your best, and so, that is our objectives this season," Peart added. "The incentive isn't a factor for us; we simply want to win every game that we play."

Despite their positive season so far, Peart believes that his team still has a lot improvement to do.

"The players recognise that we have a lot of work to do because the competition is getting tougher from now, but we are preparing ourselves to deal with that," he said. "I am just focusing on the job that I have to do in terms of getting the boys ready to do their best in every game."

The winners of the ISSA Champions Cup will receive $1 million, along with a redesigned trophy. Runners-up will walk away with $500,000; third place, $250,000; and fourth place, $100,000.
