Cornwall wary of STGC style of play

Cornwall College (CC) assistant coach Warren Barrett is hoping that the team can capitalise on his knowledge of St Georges College's style of play and the way Neville 'Bertis' Bell coaches when they face each other in the semi-finals of the ISSA Champions Cup at the Sabina Park this afternoon. The match will kick off at 5.

Both teams are going into this game unbeaten so far this season. CC, who have been getting better with each game played, is coming off a 2-0 win over Camperdown in the quarter-finals. St Georges will be riding the confidence from their 5-0 win over St Andrew Technical High School.

Barrett said they are looking forward to what he believes will be an exciting encounter.

"They are one of the better teams from the Corporate Area. I know coach Bertis Bell well. He was one of my youth coaches when I played for the national youth team and was also part of the historic qualification for France 98," said Barrett.

"He is also a Brazilian supporter and (uses their style of play) when he coaches his team. They will enjoy moving the ball around from flank to flank, get crosses in or play them back for the strikers to finish. That's the way we play as well. So we are looking forward to an exciting but tough challenge," he added.
