Vassell Reynolds, coach of Red Stripe Premier League outfit Montego Bay United (MBU), says he has not received any indications from the club's management that his tenure might be coming to end, despite the poor form of his team.

MBU, who failed to make the top-six play-offs last season, have been struggling this season with only 11 points from 12 games. They are just a point above the relegation zone in 10th place in the 12-team standings.

Harbour View on 10 and Dunbeholden on eight are the bottom-place teams in the competition.

MBU began the second round on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat to Arnett Gardens, and despite this, Reynolds said he is not concerned about his job.

"I am not worried because as a matter of fact, that is far away from my mind now," said Reynolds.

"I have not received any other reasons (from management) to think otherwise," he said.

Reynolds added that he has been working assiduously with his coaching staff to improve team's fortunes in the second round.

NUMBER OF INJURIES

"What is on my mind and the focus is to get the team prepared because we have been experiencing a number of injuries of late. We want to get through that phase and we want to get the youngsters that we would have brought in to be prepared as best as possible for the second round," Reynolds said.

"That is really my focus right now to turn things around and improve the performances as soon as possible in the second round of the competition," he said.

MBU current record stands at two wins, five draws and five defeats from 12 matches this season.

Reynolds pointed out that he was very disappointed with the performance of his team in the first round but they have moved on from it and he expects his side to do well in the second round.

"We have sat down and we have assessed the first round and recognise that the performance and position of the team is not what we expected," he said. "I thought we fell short by five or six points and we recognised also where we went wrong."
