President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Wilford 'Billy' Heaven has announced that the organisation is currently in advanced stages of planning for the construction of the long-awaited Sabina Inn.

The facility was conceived as part of the JCA's drive to increase revenue for the local cricketing body.

Heaven was speaking at a press conference where the JCA officially announced contracting the services of Chic Digital, an online marketing agency, to improve the online presence of local cricket, and attract a younger audience.

'With the annual general meeting in two weeks, I believe that by mid-April, construction should be well under way," Heaven said. "We have already identified the funds and are looking at developing the facility. We already have completed the architectural layout, and we are expecting the completion of this project by December of this year."

He continued, "If you have an overflow, for example, at any of the well-established facilities, then tourists could be accommodated here. This development also affords the option of accommodating visiting players, alleviating the burden of paying for accommodation elsewhere."

The JCA is expecting the project to cost approximately $10 million.
