The January transfer window for the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) had a lot of activities. With the first round nearing the midway point and the preliminary stage drawing to a close, teams are looking to cement their place in the top half of the table or trying to avoid relegation. As a result, every team but league leaders, Waterhouse, dipped into the market to strengthen their teams to make a run for the play-offs.

Arnett Gardens probably made the biggest move in January with the acquisition of St Kitts and Nevis pair of Geovanie Lake (forward) and Salas Cannonier (defender). They join Andrew Allen who returns to Arnett Gardens, his boyhood club, from Harbour View.

In another big move, Arnett Gardens playmaker, Vishunal Harris, made the switch to Clarendon outfit Humble Lion. While out-of-favour national goalkeeper, Jaedin White returns to Cavalier from Humble Lion, after one year at the Clarendon club.

Cavalier have also snapped out discarded Arnett Gardens player Kimani Arbouine, whose contract with the 'Junglists' was terminated after he jumped the perimeter fence during a game against Waterhouse and physically attacked a spectator earlier this season.

Outstanding midfielder

Cavalier, on the other hand, lost the service of outstanding midfielder, Leonard Rankine, who joined Mount Pleasant along with Molynes' standout Jermy Nelson.

Meanwhile, McKauly Tulloch is back at Harbour View after a stint in El Salvador with Universidad de El Salvador.

However, Portmore, once again look like the team to beat after Ricardo Morris, (VPS-Finland), Chevaney Willis (Bethlehem Steel-USL) and Damano Solomon (UWI) all returned to the champions. They are also joined by the talented Raffique Bryan (Arnett) and Shandee James (Boys Town).

Relegation strugglers, Vere, have added Narado Brown (Dunbeholden), Lamar 'Wanka' Nelson (Arnett) and Marcelino Blackburn (Molynes). UWI FC have signed experienced Portmore defender, Venton Evans and midfielder, Sheldon McKoy. While Dunbeholden strengthened offensively with the inclusion of UWI's Zhelano Barnes and Tivoli's Howard Morris.

Meanwhile, the RSPL is on a two- week break.
