Apprentice jockey Abigail Able could hardly contain her emotions at Caymanas Park after recording her third victory of her career on Saturday.

Able, who has been riding for two-years, produced a peach of a ride aboard the Wayne DaCosta-trained 13-1 shot DRUMMER BOY over the five straight course to stave off the challenge of his stablemate ROJORN DI PILOT in close finish.

She received huge cheers from racing fans at the track after the race as she returned to the winners enclosure. Interestingly, all of Able's three career wins in the saddle has come for DaCosta.

"My confidence level was really high entering the race because I knew that I had the race won when I came across the quarter," Able said.

"I only had one competitor in front of me, so I just went for him and I won the race and I am very delighted about that. The trainer told me to get a clean break and keep him straight and he said that once I do that he will give me all he can."

The victory was Able's second of this season and she said that there are still more wins to come from her this season.

"I feel grateful for the support knowing that I am a woman and I came out here and did it," she said. "I am feeling good in myself because my hard work in the saddle is paying for me.

"I am looking for a lot (wins), so I have been working double hard enough to make it.

"I have been here during the lockdown of racing due to the coronavirus, putting in the work everyday, so I know that it is going to pay off for me," she said.
