National senior team goalkeeper Dennis Taylor says he is itching for a spot in the Reggae Boyz starting line-up when they oppose Saudi Arabia in their upcoming friendly international games.

Both games will be played at the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Stadium in Riyadh on November 14 and 17.

The 30-year-old Taylor, who presents Humble Lion in the National Premier League, is hoping to add to his one international cap which he received against Bermuda earlier this year.

"I think that I have a pretty good chance of playing in one of these games, because it was my performance against Bermuda which caused me to be here," said Taylor.

"I think my chances starting are really pretty good and hopefully, I can get a game in one of these two games because, as a footballer, you always want to play, and so this is my mindset going into these games."

Taylor underscores that he is very delighted to be back in the national team and is hoping to learn a lot from the senior players within the team.

HOPING TO IMPROVE ABILITIES

"I am hoping to gain more experience from the senior players, like Dwayne Miller and Amal Knight, so I can improve my technique, my skills, and how to play the game better each and every game," he said.

"This means a lot to me to represent my country and my community in Westmoreland where I am from, and so just to be a part of the national set-up always means a lot to me," Taylor said.

He added that he is in tip-top shape going into both matches because he has been doing a lot of work and improved his all-round game.

"I am not surprised by this call because I have been doing a lot of work that has been sent out by the coaching staff, and so I am just going to go there and do my best," he said.
