Head coach of the Titans track club, Michael Frater, says a number of the club's athletes could make their debuts this month at a meet which is being organised by Calabar High School.

Titans is the acronym for Training Intelligently Towards Athletes' Natural Speed, and is the home of 2011 World 100m Yohan Blake.

The club' also boast the 2014 Commonwealth Games 100m champion Kemar Bailey-Cole, Jevaughn Minzie, former junior sprinter Jazeel Murphy, and promising 20-year-old sprinter Akeem Cole.

Frater told STAR Sports that he has received information that the Calabar meet is scheduled for December 12 and therefore a number of his athletes are gearing up for it.

He further stated that his athletes have been moving excellently in training and are looking forward to the meet.

"The guys look good so far, and we are looking to make our debut at a meet that we are hearing that Calabar is keeping, which is a development meet on the 12th of December," said Frater.

"Being that most athletes didn't get to compete this year, we want to get them out there early to start learning how to compete again," he said.

Blake, who has recorded personal-best times of 9.69 seconds in the 100m and 19.26 in the 200m, and has been hampered by a series of hamstring injuries over the past two years, began training in October.

Frater underscored that Blake has been working very hard to improve his fitness. He also noted that Bailey-Cole, who is also coming off a hamstring injury, is slowly getting back to his best.

"The other athletes have been working well, and so we just have to work with the times and situations that we are in because certain things that we want to do, we are not able to do, but we are making the best of it," Frater said.

The 38-year-old Frater won a silver medal the 100m at the 2005 World Championships.

He was also a member of the Jamaica's 4x100 relay teams which won gold at the 2012 Olympic Games and twice winning at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.
