With a look to the future for the national men's programme, national senior head coach Paul Hall along with new national under-20 head coach Marcel Gayle will both be evaluating the senior and under-20 players in a combined local camp which begins today.

Eighteen local players have been invited to the camp, the majority coming from Cavalier SC which includes Richard King and Jamoi Topey, who both made their international debuts under Hall in the international friendly against Peru in January. Denardo Thomas, Ramone Howell and Ricardo Thomas from current Jamaica Premier League leaders Waterhouse have been named as well as Ronaldo Cephas of Arnett Gardens.

The three-day camp will be used to finalise Hall's 23-man squad for the final leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers which start on March 24 when they host El Salvador. Jamaica have already been eliminated from qualifying for Qatar after failing to win all three of their matches in the January/February window.

Sixteen players have already confirmed their availability to finish the campaign, of which nine are English-based players. The 16 confirmed for the final three games reads: Andre Blake, Dillon Barnes, Amal Knight, Damion Lowe, Richard King, Adrian Mariappa, Ethan Pinnock, Javain Brown, Gregory Leigh, Kevin Stewart, Devon Williams, Andre Gray, Kemar Roofe, Ravel Morrison, Jamal Lowe and Leon Bailey. Bailey only made two appearances in the qualifiers in November and was not called up in the last window because of an injury.

Meanwhile, Gayle's first training camp will include Kington College's Christopher Pearson who made his debut with Cavalier SC recently as well as Garvey Maceo's Cleo Clarke who is also with the Kingston-based outfit. The camp will also act as preparation for the Concacaf Under-20 Men's Championship in June, which will act as both a qualifier for the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
