Five months into his French adventure, national midfielder Junior Flemmings says that he has had no problems adjusting to his new surroundings as he looks forward to playing in the country's top-flight next season with his club Toulouse FC.

Toulouse secured the Ligue 2 championship recently, earning promotion to Ligue 1 next year with Flemmings slowly finding his feet in France after signing for the club last January.

His professional journey has seen him adapt to living in the United States since moving in 2016, playing for clubs such as New York Red Bull II, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Phoenix Rising, and the Birmingham Legion. While his new experience is a departure from the United States, Flemmings says he has had no issues adjusting to life in France on and off the field.

"It's definitely different from what I was used to in the past six, seven years," Flemmings told STAR Sports. "The culture and the style of play is way different, [but] I can say I adapted pretty quickly."

Toulouse is France's fourth largest city by population with almost 500,000 residents, and Flemmings says that its laid back atmosphere suits his personality although he is still getting used to the cuisine.

"I have really been a low key person ever since, so it's not a culture shock for me because here it's more low key and chill," he said. "Everyone is on their own timing, and not to mention the food here is completely different from what am used to.

"When you talk about eating healthy and having a healthy lifestyle, this is the place. They are on point where that is concerned."

Flemmings has only played three times this season, all as a substitute with only 25 minutes of playing time. However, with the opportunity to face Lionel Messi and Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain next season, Flemmings says he is optimistic of his chances to show his talents.

"I have to admit the fact that I came in when there are 15 games left in the season, so everybody was way ahead of me. But in terms of next year, we will see how preseason goes and take it one step at a time," he said.
