JPL Best and Worst – Week 19
Best
Kimani Arbouine
Arnett Gardens were on the verge of a tough defeat to Molynes United on Monday when they scored two goals in seven minutes to take a 3-2 lead, inside five minutes of stoppage tim to be played. Somehow, Arnett salvaged a point with a goal-of-the-season candidate from midfielder Kimani Arbouine in the third minute of stoppage time. While the points were split, Arnett are still in the hunt for a first-round bye with the gap between themselves and second-place Dunbeholden now cut to three points.
Daniel Green
Mount Pleasant striker Daniel Green is now the new Golden Boot leader after his brace in their 4-1 win over Tivoli Gardens took him to 12 goals for the season. With a game in hand, they also are in the mix to contend for a top-two finish as they are now on 34 points, five points behind second-place Dunbeholden.
Worst
Tivoli Gardens
With their 4-1 defeat by Mount Pleasant, sixth-place Tivoli Gardens have made their play-off chase uncomfortable, as seventh-place Harbour View now have an opportunity to overtake them in the standings, with a point separating the two teams. They were exposed defensively by a ruthless Mount Pleasant attack which left them without answers. They will have a tough final three games to end the regular season, having to face league leaders Waterhouse, their West Kingston rivals Arnett Gardens, and reigning champions Cavalier in their quest to make the play-offs.
