Fraser-Pryce beats Jackson with world’s leading time

Reigning World Championships 100 metres champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce produced a scintillating performance on her way to clocking a world-leading and meet record to win the women's 100 metres at the Monaco Diamond League on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Fraser-Pryce, who has been having a very impressive season, blew from the blocks and stepped away from her compatriot Shericka Jackson to win the event in 10.62 seconds.

Jackson, who is the reigning World Championships' 200 metres champion, was second in a new personal best time of 10.71 with Marie-Jose Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast finishing third in a lifetime best and African record of 10.72.
