The Church Pen Community in St Catherine was united under one accord recently, with the staging of the Rum-Bar Sundayz football tournament at the John Walters Oval.

The eight-a-side event breathed life into the community and it was won by Genocide as they collected the $100,000 top prize offer, after they defeated Church Pen Scheme 5-4 on penalties. Both teams ended regulation and extra-time level 1-1.

Rum-Bar Sundayz was organised by Bug Head and Claude, which the former believes will assist in the camaraderie and unity of Church Pen and surrounding communities.

"It's a competition that players and spectators look forward to on an annual basis," Bug Head said.

Football and other attractions for children took place during the day, while an after-party for adults culminated the day's activities.
