BEST

TIMAR LEWIS

Nicholas Hamilton has been the main source of goals for Harbour View this season, but Timar Lewis ensured that Hamilton is not bearing the burden alone. His hat-trick in their 6-1 win against Faulkland proved that other persons can contribute as well. Harbour View are among the three undefeated teams left in the league, and the reigning champions are showing no signs of slowing down.

WATERHOUSE

After a difficult period for Waterhouse, they have managed to finally stop the rot. They were in a serious hole, having lost their last three games, but their 1-0 win over struggling Vere United came at the right time, with the addition of getting a clean sheet in the process. They are now in 10th place in the table, which is not where the perennial contenders want to be this early in the season, but could be a platform for a much-needed surge up the table.

PORTMORE UNITED

Portmore United has secured a win at last in head coach Philip Williams's first full season in charge. The patience has finally paid off in their 1-0 win over Chapelton Maroons, and it is the hope that it can begin the climb for Portmore, who are usually in the title-winning conversation. Now the challenge will be how consistent they can be in putting a winning run together, to be different from the past two seasons, where they missed the play-offs.

HUMBLE LION

Humble Lion got the biggest scalp of the season, ending the undefeated run of Montego Bay United in their 1-0 win. It is no small feat for the Clarendon-based Humble Lion, as Montego Bay had soared to the top of the table, after two seasons severing as fodder, for the rest of the league.

WORST

FAULKLAND

Vere United and Faulkland are still searching for their first win of the season. Faulkland were outclassed by reigning champions Harbour View 6-1 and are finding life in the top flight arduous. If they are to ensure that they are not relegated after their first season, they will need to get points on the board quickly.

VERE UNITED

Vere United may have more points than Faulkland, but their situation is not much better. They may have only allowed six goals this season, but they have only scored once in the five games they have played. They were shut out again by Waterhouse 1-0, which has increased their offensive problems. While they have not been overrun by teams, they are under threat of being in the relegation scrap, with narrow defeats.

MONTEGO BAY UNITED

Montego Bay are unbeaten no more. Their first defeat of the season was to Humble Lion, who registered their biggest scalp of the season so far. While it has put them two points away from first place, it is only the third goal they have conceded this season. If they can continue like that, then they should be in good stead for the rest of the campaign.
