Whether Davion Ferguson is the Jamaica College head coach beyond this season is still to be determined. But if this afternoon's Olivier Shield play-off against Clarendon College is the final time he will be on the sideline for the "Dark Blues", he wants to complete a hat-trick of titles for the reigning Manning Cup champions.

The game, a rematch of the 2019 all-island championship encounter, will take place at Stadium East Field at 5 p.m, bringing to a close the 2022 local schoolboy football season which could be historic for JC. They could finish the season unbeaten as well as complete the treble for the first time since 2017. That year proved to be the final season for head coach Miguel Coley after five years of success.

While focused on the task at hand, Ferguson is also cognisant of the decision he will make about 2023 and beyond. But he says his sole focus is ensuring JC complete a season where they regained the Manning Cup title they lost in January and added the Champions Cup a few days prior.

"To be honest, I don't know what will be my decision at the end of this season in terms of my next move or my future. So it's always important to really go out if you are going out on a high. The key thing for me is the boys. It's not necessarily about personal achievements or winning a title," Ferguson told STAR Sports. "We want to do it one for the boys and two for our Jamaica College family who are very supportive and that is basically the reason why we want to do it."

In his three seasons at the helm, Ferguson has won two Manning Cup titles and the Champions Cup with the Olivier Shield missing from his resume. But success has never been about individual milestones for Ferguson but team glory so he is not worried about what his future will hold after today.

"For me it's about wanting to repay the sacrifices and the dedication that the team put in all season with another piece of silverware. They are on the cusp of history, to win a triple and to be undefeated all season," Ferguson said. "It's inappropriate to say much on that (my future). We want to finish the season as strong as we can. But as a coach there is always other things that you want to achieve. But those are things that we can do after the season but for now we want to finish the season strong."

Clarendon College are hoping to put a dent in those plans just like in 2019 where they defeated JC on penalties to lift the title.
