Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) general secretary, Dennis Chung, is assuring that the novel jerseys by new brand sponsors Adidas will not deviate from the Jamaican identity, with opportunities for additional apparel as part of the partnership.

The JFF began their partnership with Adidas on Monday, which, according to Chung, is part of the sponsorship plan for the federation.

The deal also consists of a new kit for national teams with the novel look coming in a year when the Reggae Girlz will compete at the Women's World Cup this summer in Australia and New Zealand.

Chung said that the launch of the new jersey is slated for next month but says that fans can expect Adidas to do justice to the shirt, which has gone through two kit sponsors, Umbro and Kappa.

"You can expect a good brand. There is a design already but we can't reveal it yet. We are going to have a launch with Adidas. That date is set for the first week in February. Everything will be revealed at that time," Chung told STAR Sports.

The additional apparel goal is to boost the JFF's e-commerce and Chung says that the partnership will provide other opportunities. He believes there will be no major deviation from past designs with interest already shown in the kit at home and abroad.

"Adidas is a brand that is known for its design. Adidas and Nike are the powerhouses. People are already calling and expressing interest in getting a jersey also, from both overseas and locally. It can't go much different from Jamaica's design," Chung said. "It is our national colours and we are going to have not just jerseys, but other sports clothes that we are looking at also."

Next month's release will come as the Reggae Girlz continue their World Cup preparations with a practice tournament in Australia, the first opportunity for the kit to be worn. The Reggae Boyz will have their chance to start their slate with the new jerseys in March for their Concacaf Nations League match with Mexico.
