BEST

MOUNT PLEASANT

Mount Pleasant took care of business with a 5-0 drumming of Vere United as they look to solidify their position going into the playoffs. They still have an outside chance for a first-round bye, but if they miss out, the task for the final three games of the regular season is to ensure they have the momentum for their title charge.

HUMBLE LION

Humble Lion took a critical step to make the playoffs for the first time in years after dispatching Chapelton Maroons 4-0. The Andrew -coached Humble Lion, currently in fifth place with 39 points, have a four-point gap between themselves and seventh-place Portmore United, their next opponents, but cannot afford to relax. A Humble Lion win will secure them a playoff spot with two games left.

WATERHOUSE

Waterhouse's 1-0 win over Tivoli Gardens could not have come at a better time, as their third win in five games has them holding on to the sixth and final playoff spot with three games to go. They face a brutal stretch to finish the regular season, with league leaders Cavalier, playoff-chasing Portmore United and Humble Lion to play. In other words, there are no margins for error for the Marcel Gayle-coached Waterhouse.

CAVALIER

A regular season crown, as well as a first-round bye, are on the cards for Cavalier after their 2-0 win over Portmore United keeps them at the top of the table, thanks to goal difference. Their third-straight victory has them in sparkling form and in a position to make a deep playoff run.

WORST

KIT CLASH

The fact that the Harbour View and Molynes United game had to be halted for nearly half an hour because of a clash in uniforms should not have happened. With Molynes United, the designated away team, somehow they still had their blue kits, and the fact the match still went ahead for 15 minutes knowing the potential problems is a major mistake that cannot be repeated.

VERE UNITED

The bad news is that Vere United were on the wrong end of a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Mount Pleasant, which means their Premier League stay is uncertain for at least another week. While they are no longer the worst offensive in the league, they have conceded 11 goals in their last three games. The good news is a win in their remaining three games will guarantee their safety, and even if they don't, a Faukland loss or draw in their last three will also keep Vere safe. It would be best that Vere take care of business themselves to avoid any more complications.

CHAPELTON MAROONS

Chapelton Maroons have finally been put out of their misery. A 4-0 defeat at the hands of their parish rivals, Humble Lion, has confirmed their return to the second division after one season in top-flight football. It was a bridge too far for Maroons, the worst offensive in the league, scoring only nine goals. The six-point deduction was the fatal blow, as they had too much ground to make up.
