Runaway Algo to go all the way

Taking his fourth crack at the open-allowance company in Saturday's Seeking My Dream, RUNAWAY ALGO has never been worse than second in three tries, beaten by I'VE GOT MAGIC, CALCULUS, and I AM FRED when last out April 8.

Apart from running smack into a super-charged, I AM FRED, who returned to beat MAHOGANY in his follow-up race, RUNAWAY ALGO was never led in his three open-allowance losses, instead caught trying to steal events from in front.

What differs this time is the pace quality of the opposition, giving RUNAWAY ALGO an unmolested lead, similar to the destruction he wreaked on overnight-allowance company when winning by a dozen lengths on February 26.

The form of RUNAWAY ALGO's last race has played copybook with I AM FRED returning to upstage topweight MAHOGANY at a mile, using 115lb to track and beat the speedster into third after stablemate KING ARTHUR ran the first leg of the Jason DaCosta relay.

Returning off a nearly three-month break, allowing I AM FRED 11lb, MAHOGANY surrendered on the turn in a 1:12.0 split against his rival, who had shown how dangerous he was in his previous race, using 126lb to chase down RUNAWAY ALGO's searing 57.0 for five furlongs at six and a half.

SHE'S MY DESTINY, who was third behind I AM FRED and RUNAWAY ALGO in splits of 34.1, 46.1, 57,0 and 1:11.2, returned to saunter against MADELYN'S SUNSHINE and UNRULY BOSS at six furlongs two weeks ago, clocking 1:13.1 with topweight 126lb.

BLUE VINYL's tail has been high in his last two races, outclassing horses who were no match for him in last season's three-year-old classics, dismissing BRINKS and PERFECT BREW in back-to-back events.

BLUE VINYL's sole encounter with RUNAWAY ALGO was December's Mouttet Mile, in which he was an onlooker while the foreigner kept MAHOGANY honest for six furlongs, resulting in a pace collapse for EXCESSIVE FORCE, DUKE, and JORDON REIGN'S to capitalise.

Forget CALCULUS at 126lb trying to catch RUNAWAY ALGO. CALCULUS might have finished ahead of MAHOGANY last out, a pace beneficiary against the tiring speedster, who had beaten him out of sight in the Ian Levy at eight and a half furlongs last December.

RUNAWAY ALGO's glowing exercise workouts, 1:12.3 and 1:00.0, consecutive Saturday mornings, suggest rivals will see his rear for seven and a half furlongs.
