The ISSA schoolgirls' netball competitions close today with the best junior and senior teams in the Rural Area facing the best from the Urban Area in the All-Island finals at the Leila Robinson Courts at 2 p.m.

Marvette Anderson-coached Urban Area champions The Queen's School will seek their seventh title when they tackle the Simone Smith-coached Rural Area champions Manchester High, who are seeking their second All Island Junior title.

In the All-Island Senior final, the Phyllis Thompson-coached St Catherine High, after their first Urban Area title and first attempt last year, will take on the Carline Graham-Powell-coached Rural Area champions Holmwood Technical, who are seeking title No. 7.

St Catherine lost to Glenmuir in the final last year; however, this time, they will be very pumped up after blowing away a solid Gaynstead High 42-29 in last Thursday's Urban Area final, where they produced their best game of the season and will not lack confidence for today's encounter.

MVP goal attack Gaylor Wright led their win with an outstanding game and with lanky goal shooter Kellian Hunter, were unstoppable inside the circle. Both will be looking for another excellent performance, with good support expected from goal defence Asharie Thomas, centre Tanice Green, and another lanky player in goalkeeper Kaydene Gordon.

It will be no easy task for St Catherine as Holmwood, at this stage, can be deadly. They will be even more motivated after failing to reach this stage last year, when their bid for an 11th title was stopped before the Rural Area final.

Holmwood will be led by Rural Area final MVP wing attack Jada Ricketts, centre Jessica Chaplain, and goal shooter Rashada Brown.

Manchester High, after their giant-killing performances in both the semi-finals and final of the Rural Area Junior competition, defeating Denbigh High, and defending All- Island champions Holmwood in style, look set to continue that momentum against a feisty Queen's.

MVP of the final, goal defence Alliyah Morgan, centre Danai Walker and goal attack Britanique Daley led the onslaught for Manchester. A repeat performance could spell danger for their Urban Area opponents.

On the other hand, Queen's have moved from strength to strength after only advancing to the second round of the Urban Area competition as the second-best third-place team from their group. However, they must be at their best against the red-hot Manchester.

Queen's will be hoping that young wing attack Teshae Freckleton, goal shooter Brianne Bailey and Urban Area final MVP, goal attack Mikayla Morrison, can reproduce another outstanding performance to keep the dangerous Manchester High in check.
