Clarendon College standout Kaheim Dixon is aiming to play in an international league.

The forward, who amassed 38 goals throughout the schoolboy football season and is also registered as a member of Jamaica Premier League (JPL) outfit Arnett Gardens, said he prefers not to compete in the local league this season.

"I am not planning to play this season. I am planning to go forward (and) not play in the Jamaica Premier League this season, (but I am) trying to go in the bigger leagues," the 19-year-old said.

In the meanwhile, he said, he is appreciative of his ISSA schoolboy football achievements.

"I feel wonderful, feel great to win back the daCosta Cup and the Olivier Shield, leading goalscorer and Player of the Season," he said.

Dixon said he would appreciate a similar opportunity like what happened to young Jamaican sensation Dujuan 'Whisper' Richards, who signed a contract with the English Premier League giants Chelsea FC after having an outstanding schoolboy football season for Kingston College last year.

"I would feel the same as 'Whisper'. It would be great for my family and friends. That's a push," Dixon said, pointing out that this will be a financial boost for his loved ones.

Dixon said he looks up to Reggae Boy Shamar Nicholson and would love to play with him for his country.

"It would be wonderful that I could play for my country at this age; it would be a wonderful season," he said.

Clarendon College's coach, Lenworth Hyde, said he expects great things from Dixon.

"He makes me feel good. Kaheem started from Under-14 with us down at Clarendon, and, to see him grow, his work ethic, his discipline, the sacrifices he makes at training every day - this is how he plays in the training sessions. So the sky's the limit for that guy. If he continues that trend, he can reach the international scene," Hyde said.
