Montego Bay United went into the lion's den twice in two weeks and came out virtually unscathed, with a point on each occasion.

The Neider Dos Santos-coached team went to Drax Hall and drew 1-1 with leaders Mount Pleasant, before travelling to the Ferdie Neita Park on Sunday and coming away with a similar result.

On both occasions the former winners led but were pegged back, but Dos Santos believes they would have won the two games had it not been for some controversial calls by officials.

"Before the equaliser goal for Mount Pleasant, there was a foul in front of the linesman. It's a shame, because the performance of the team was very good

"The match against Portmore was a good match, but a very windy ground, a very tough ground to play.

"First half, we led. Second half, we were controlling the game but they came all over us; and again in the 87th minute, a very controversial penalty given. So those decisions have been tough on us " he told STAR Sports.

"One point is better than none. But we had gone to those matches to get three (points), and we could have done that, but there's nothing we can do about these controversial calls from the referees. But we will not complain, we will move forward."

Montego Bay are in eighth place on 28 points, two less than Waterhouse and five adrift of Dunbeholden.

Despite not getting the three points from the two recent games, Dos Santos said the performances were encouraging and he is still very hopeful they can get into the play-offs.

"Against Mount Pleasant, we had a very good performance. We had the better chances in the game. Mount Pleasant are strong opponents when playing at home, but we matched them very well.

"We could have won both games, but we did not, so we have to look forward to out next game at home.

"We play Treasure Beach, and we do not expect an easy match because there are no easy matches in the Jamaica Premier League, but we have to get three points," he insisted.

Montego Bay are now unbeaten in five matches and Dos Santos said their aim is to keep that record to the end of the round.

"We are much better than in the first round. We have a much more solid team, and we are training every day to improve that," the Montego Bay United head coach said.
