Arnett Gardens can climb to second in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) with a victory over Humble Lion in their 7:30 p.m. encounter and Cavalier losing to Portmore United in today's doubleheader at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Cavalier, with 45 points, sit four points adrift of leaders Mount Pleasant but only three points ahead of Tivoli, Portmore and Arnett, who hold a superior goal difference, which, with the results going accordingly, will place them in one of the two automatic semi-final spots with four matches to go.

Arnett will start clear favourites against the struggling Humble Lion, who are 11th in the points standing on 22.

Arnett are five games unbeaten and will expect to continue that run when they face the Clarendon club.

Humble Lion are unbeaten in two games and got their first win in eight matches under new coach Christopher Bender.

Humble Lion drew 1-1 with Cavalier, before an emphatic 3-0 win over Vere in the Clarendon derby last weekend and will fancy their chances of a positive result.

In the opening game at 5 p.m., Cavalier can slip from the top two and the automatic semi-final spot, with a defeat to Portmore.

Cavalier will be desperate to hang on to their top-two status, a position they have held for the last six rounds of games.

The Rudolph Speid-coached Cavalier were booted from the top last week while losing their 14-match unbeaten run to Mount Pleasant.

The last two matches were the first time this season Cavalier had conceded more than once in a game, and if they are to rebound with a win today, they will need that rock-solid defence that has only breached 10 goals in 20 games.

Cavalier have not won in three matches, but they know that failure to do so today could jeopardise their hopes of a direct semi-final spot.

Portmore have not been firing on all cylinders, despite holding the longest unbeaten streak in the league (15 games).

They have just one win in their last five matches but have only scored four goals in those six games.

The Philip Williams-coached Portmore have kept things fairly tight at the defensive end, with just five goals conceded in their last eight games.

However, with both teams not showing their best attacking form, it could be anyone's game and will come down to who wants it more.
