There were smiles at the Port Royal and Galilee Basic Schools recently after they received much-needed equipment from the Masters and Celebrities football organisation and the Bob Marley One Love Foundation.

Masters and Celebrities are responsible for organising the annual Bob Marley One Love football matches on Ash Wednesdays.

The proceeds from the game are used to assist basic schools in need. Port Royal Basic, destroyed by fire earlier, and Galilee Basic were the beneficiaries this year.

Jackie Ennis, a board member of the Port Royal Basic School, pointed out that they are still recovering from the unfortunate blaze in January, and the computer from Master and Celebrities will assist in their rebuilding process.

"The Port Royal Basic School is grateful to receive this much-needed equipment. We suffered a fire a few weeks ago and were destroyed, and we are now in the rebuilding process. We truly are thankful to the Masters and Celebrities group and the Bob Marley One Love Foundation for making this presentation," said Innis.

Clive 'Busy' Campbell, who has been putting on the Bob Marley One Love Football matches for over 30 years, told the gathering: "This is something that the Port Royal Basic school needed because they were just burnt out. The Masters and Celebrities, through the Bob Marley One Love, take great pleasure to present this computer."

He added that he was equally pleased to assist the Galilee Basic School with a printer, and principal Carolina Porter-Johnson said it was an invaluable gesture.

"This is something we have always needed," Porter-Johnson commented. "We always wanted a printer and were unable to get one for ourselves. We want to say a big thank you on behalf of Gallilee Basic School to the Masters and Celebrities group."
