Montego Bay United and Waterhouse scored crucial wins in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) yesterday, to create a three-way tie on points for sixth, as the battle for the last play-off spot heats up with three games to go in the round.

Montego Bay defeated direct rivals and hosts Dunbeholden 2-0 while Waterhouse overcame Treasure Beach 4-2 at the STETHS Sports Complex.

Waterhouse, Montego Bay and Dunbeholden are tied on 34 points. Waterhouse, however, hold the advantage with a plus 11 goal difference. Montego Bay are next in seventh with plus five and Dunbeholden in eighth with a plus two goal difference. All three teams have played 23 games.

Yesterday, Dunbeholden went into the round of matches three points clear of their rivals, and needed a positive result to stay in pole position.

However, goals from Jourdain Fletcher (46th) and Brian Brown (90+1) saw Montego Bay to victory.

At STETHS, Waterhouse, with an Andre Fletcher hat-trick and a Leonardo Jibbison strike, led the hosts 4-0 after 65 minutes.

However, late strikes from Rafique Bryan and Romario Smith added some respectability to the score for the home team.

Meanwhile, Harbour View registered their first win in six matches, with a 6-0 hammering of relegation-bound Lime Hall.

Trinidadian Tyrese Williams and Jahshaun Anglin scored two goals each while Demar Rose and Rohan Brown got the others.

At the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, Justin Dunn netted a hat-trick as Tivoli ran out 6-3 winners against Molynes United. Jason Wright scored all three goals for Molynes.

Dunn now leads the golden boot race with 14 goals, three more than Javane Bryan of Waterhouse and Molynes' Wright.

The other game between leaders Mount Pleasant and Vere at the Wembley Centre of Excellence ended scoreless.

Mount Pleasant climbed to 50 points and stretched their lead at the top of the standings to five points in the process.

Behind the leaders, there is a four-way tie for second with Tivoli, Portmore, Arnett and Cavalier, respectively, all locked on 45 points.

Harbour View's win carried them to 22 points and above Humble Lion on goal difference in 11th, while 13th place Treasure Beach (12) and 14th place Lime Hall (7) remain in the relegation positions.
