May Day complete win, STETHS fighting back in Headley Cup semis

May Day High won their ISSA/GK Insurance Grace Headley Cup semi-final against Clarendon College while defending champions St. Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) are fighting back in the other match against Manchester High.

At lunch on today's third and final day, hosts May Day had already secured a 393-run victory over Clarendon College, who were dismissed for a meagre 90 runs in their second innings. Earlier, May Day failed to add to their overnight 352 for nine, which provided them with a 483 cushion for Clarendon to overhaul.

Clarendon, who had made 156 in their first innings replying to 352, capitulated easily, with Nashane Meade capturing six wickets for 23 runs for May Day.

Meanwhile, at STETHS, the hosts had a 142-run lead over Manchester, advancing from 81 for four overnight, to 204 for eight during the morning session. STETHS made 188 in their first innings, with Manchester replying with 250.
