Arnett Gardens forward Kaheim Dixon is promising a more clinical performance when they face Portmore United in the second leg of their Jamaica Premier League (JPL) quarterfinal at Sabina Park next week.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in their first leg matchup at the same venue on Monday.

Despite getting some good opportunities to register a goal for his team, Dixon was unable to convert and only Fabian Reid's 82nd-minute strike earned the 'Junglists' a share of the spoils.

Although proud of his team's effort, Dixon thought he let his team down in front of goal, and vowed to make better use of his opportunities next game.

"I should have put away one or two of those chances," he told STAR Sports. "So there is room for improvement. So I will work on it for the next game. So next game it's about putting away the chances.

Dixon had the first real chance of the game in the 20th minute but he kicked straight to goalkeeper Tyrone Williams.

Portmore went ahead in the 41st minute when Jaheim Rose inexplicably struck Marshall's low cross against the bar, but the ball rebounded off Philando Wing and into his own goal.

Dixon had a great chance to equalise with 10 minutes remaining, but Williams was quick off his line to turn the forward's effort for a corner.

Reid eventually got the equaliser, capitalising on a Shai Smith cross and stabbing home from six yards.

However, Arnett ended the game the stronger team and Dixon had a couple of other openings that he failed to make better use of.

Nevertheless, he was impressed with how his team reacted after going behind, and promised to get his finishing right for the second leg.

"I really liked the team spirit with the guys. So when I get back to the training ground I will try to fix everything that needs fixing and be ready for the second leg next Monday," the former Clarendon College daCosta Cup star said.
