Outstanding triple jumper Hibbert inks KFC deal
World Under-20 triple jump champion Jaydon Hibbert is now a brand ambassador for fast-food giants KFC.
"My first brand ambassador deal! I am thrilled to announce that I am now the first track and field brand ambassador for KFC in Jamaica. KFC is always my go-to spot when I arrive in Jamaica, so this is a big deal," the United States-based Hibbert said.
Also excited about the deal is Andrei Roper, marketing manager at KFC's franchise holders Restaurants of Jamaica.
"KFC is a long-time supporter of Jamaican sports and athletes. We believe in investing in our nation's talented youth, and so we are extremely excited to partner with one of Jamaica's brightest young sporting talents. We are pleased to welcome Jaydon to the KFC family, and we are delighted to be a part of his journey," Roper shared in a press release after the deal was signed yesterday.
And what an exciting journey Hibbert has ahead of him as he will be a strong medal prospect in the triple jump event at the Paris Olympics which begins on July 26. Following the conclusion of the Paris Games on August 11, Hibbert will travel to Peru to compete in the triple jump and long jump at the August 27-31 World Under-20 Championships.
Roper said Hibbert's hard work is one attribute which prompted KFC to sign the deal with the 19-year-old.
"Jaydon's attitude and dedication towards track and field has been commendable. He aligns perfectly with everything we hold dear at KFC - leadership, discipline, commitment, dedication, community, nation-building, and all-around Jamaican excellence. He is a great role model for young athletes. We look forward to what will undoubtedly be a great partnership and are confident he will represent us, both KFC and Jamaica, well at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics," Roper said.
Hibbert, the holder of the world Under-20 outdoor and indoor records in the triple jump, is set to appear in upcoming KFC brand and retail marketing campaigns.
