Broadbell looks to turn back Americans in Lausanne
OLYMPIC GAMES 110-metre hurdles bronze medallist Rasheed Broadbell will renew rivalry with Americans Grant Holloway and Daniel Roberts in the event at tomorrow's Wanda Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Holloway easily won gold in Paris but it was an extremely close finish for the next two medals between Broadbell and Roberts and the American edged out the Jamaican by 5000th of a second for silver after both clocked 13.09 seconds..
Holloway, the Diamond League leader in the event, is expected to continue his unbeaten run this season but another close battle is expected between Broadbell and Roberts. Jamaica's Hansle Parchment will also contest the event.
Broadbell and Parchment will be joined by 13 other Jamaicans at the meet. They include long jumper Wayne Pinnock who bagged silver in the event in Paris. Pinnock will be hoping to finish ahead of Miltiadis Tentaglou of Greece who won the gold medal in Paris. Pinnock will be joined in the event by compatriots Tajay Gayle and Carey McLeod.
Young female sprint sensation Tia Clayton, a finalist in Paris, will make her Diamond League debut when she contests the 100m.
