Shaquille Bradford scored the game's only goal as Mount Pleasant Football Academy turned back Portmore United 1-0 to complete the double over their opponents this season, keeping their one-point lead atop of the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) standings.

Bradford scored five minutes before the half-time break at Drax Hall as Mount Pleasant climbed to 31 points, one more than Arnett Gardens. The Junglists defeated Dunbeholden 1-0 at Dunbeholden playing field courtesy of Kimani Arbouine's 15th-minute strike.

Meanwhile, Waterhouse lost ground to the front two after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Racing United at Ferdi Neita Park.

Atapharoy Bygrave fired Waterhouse ahead on the stroke of halftime. But substitute Andrew Campbell salvaged a point for the home team with a 77th-minute goal.

Chapelton Maroons registered their second successive win after edging relegation strugglers Harbour View 1-0 on a Javon Ellis 55th-minute goal at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

At Stadium East, Tivoli Gardens FC turned back Molynes United 2-0 on goals from Barrington Pryce (12th minute) and Horatio Morgan (35th).

While in the late game, also at Stadium East, Cavalier defeated Humble Lions 3-1. Shaquille Stein fired Cavalier into the lead in the 34th minute. But Jay Jameison found an equaliser for Humble Lions at the 39th minute, as the teams went in 1-1 at the break.

Kaile Auvray restored Cavalier's lead in the 69th minute and Jalmaro Calvin sealed the win from the penalty spot in the 80th minute.

It was Cavalier's first win in three games and they moved two places up to third, tied on 26 points with fourth-place Waterhouse, who dropped one place.

Cavalier's coach Rudolph Speid said it was a tough game, but their quality allowed them to deliver.

"Definitely they made it difficult. We didn't expect the equaliser. But I know they (players) have the quality, so that wasn't an issue. My issue was how long we could keep going," he said.

"The good thing was the pace (of the game) was not that high, even though Humble Lions played extremely well."

His counterpart Donovan Duckie thought his team were in control in the first half, and should have taken the lead on a Cleo Clarke chance early in the period.

Nevertheless, Duckie believes lack of depth remains their biggest challenge.

"The first half we were very compact in all three lines. We played well in transition. I was very impressed, I scored them 10 out of 10 for the half," he commented.

"But we are a bit depleted and this was our story for the first round and now the beginning of the second round.

"We go to the bench and everything goes down. So it's no secret we have to go into the transfer window (in January). Our first 11 is very competitive but in order to win games we have to think about the second half and that is what we have to fix," Duckie explained.

Meanwhile, Tivoli (16) climb one place to seventh with their win, while Chapelton Maroons jumped three places to eighth with 15 points, after scoring back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Dunbeholden slipped two places to ninth after their defeat to Arnett. However, Racing stayed 10th after sharing points with Waterhouse.

Harbour View, who have six defeats and just one win from their last 10 matches, remain in 12th just two points outside the relegation zone, on 12 points

Humble Lions and Molynes United stayed at the foot of the standings on 10 points each.

The league continues today with one game. Montego Bay United could go third in the table with a win over 11th-place Vere United (13) at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Catherine Hall at 7:45 p.m.
