Cricket Cave Jamaica’s first indoor cricket centre at Sabina Park
KINGSTON:
Cricket in Jamaica has taken a monumental leap forward with the grand opening of Cricket Cave's state-of-the-art indoor cricket centre at Sabina Park in Kingston.
Founded by entrepreneurs Atishi Mansingh and David Henriques in partnership with the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), the facility promises to revolutionise player development and fan engagement in the sport.
The new indoor centre, the first of its kind in Jamaica to operate under lights, will provide year-round training opportunities for national teams while also serving as a hub for cricket enthusiasts.
From 8 a.m.-2 p.m. daily, the facility will be reserved for JCA national teams, men, women and youth, offering them a world-class space to hone their skills.
After noon, the nets, bowling machines and equipment will be available for public rental until 11 p.m.
Beyond training, Cricket Cave is designed to be a social hotspot, featuring a lounge area where fans and players can relax and "lyme" in a cricket-themed environment.
Mansingh emphasised that the vision extends beyond just practice.
"This is the launch of the growth and development of cricket in Jamaica. We are here to show people that cricket can be fun, that we are at a place to come and learn, and that the place to be is the Cricket Cave." -CMC
