Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Cavalier Soccer Club and runners-up Mount Pleasant Football Academy have been drawn among 10 of the Caribbean's best clubs in zones B and A, respectively, of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup football championship.

The live draw was held yesterday by the region's football governing body, Concacaf.

Cavalier , which defeated Mount Pleasant FA 6-5 on penalties to retain their JPL title recently, will contest Group B alongside the team they beat in last year's final, Cibao FC of the Dominican Republic, plus Trinidadian outfit Defence Force, and Juventus de Cayes of Haiti.

The group will be completed with the addition of the runners-up of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield tournament.

The JPL champions are coming off a successful season, which also saw them advancing to the quarter-finals of the Concacaf Champions Cup.

However, the Jamaicans were eliminated by football great Lionel Messi's United States club, Miami FC, with Messi scoring in the teams' return tie in Jamaica that Miami FC won 2-0.

Mount Pleasant, who have contested the past three JPL finals against Cavalier, have been drawn in zone A alongside Suriname's SV Robinhood, Trinidadian club Central FC, and O&M of the Dominican Republic.

They will also be joined by a fifth team, the champions of the upcoming CFU Club Shield.

Preliminary play will see each team playing four group-stage matches (two home, two away), and the top two from each group will move on to the Knockout Stage, culminating in a home-and-away final.

The top three clubs will qualify for the next edition of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
