Brother’s friend trying to get me

Dear Pastor,

I am 17 and I need your fatherly advice. I am in high school and I am trying to do my best. Some of the guys I meet say they love me and some are very disgusting.

I have an older brother who lives in the US and he came to Jamaica for Christmas. Another guy, who is not a Jamaican, came with him.

From the time he saw me, he told me that he loved me. I got to love him, too, because he dressed well, spoke well, and was good-looking.

He told me he wants to be a lawyer, so he is studying for that. Whenever my brother was going out, my brother took me with them and they paid for everything.

Every day he told me he wanted us to be alone, but that did not happen.

My brother told me that the guy loved me, but he told him I am not ready to have a boyfriend because I am still in high school, so he should leave me alone.

We talk all the time on the phone. Now he says that he will give me time to finish school, but he would like us to get married and I can go to university in the US.

I don't know what to say about him, because he asked me to take pictures of my private part and send them to him.

I told him I wouldn't do that and he said he would not show them to anyone. Sometimes I feel like telling my brother what he told me to do, but they are good friends and I don't want to break up their friendship. What should I do?

Dear R.C.,

This is not a good man. He does not respect you. Evidently, he wants to have a fling. The request that he has made to you is abominable.

That should not have even come to his thoughts. That reveals the type of person he is.

Please do not even consider this man as a good friend. Whenever he calls, tell him that you are no longer interested in him and if he continues to harass you, tell him that you will tell your brother. Concentrate on your schoolwork. Try to do your best.
