I love him but he’s taken

May 17, 2019

Dear Pastor,

I am a fan of your column. Hopefully, you can give me some advice. I am 19 years old and I am in love with this guy, who claims that he loves me.

I have been hiding my feelings from him. We have phone conversations most times, or sometimes we see each other and talk. He treats me well, and he respects me.

As I said earlier, I really do love him. But he lives with his family (babymother and his sons), and that's where the confusion comes in.

I'm not sure I want to break up his family, and I don't want a relationship where I would have to hide. I asked my friend and she told me that I would have to make this decision for myself. Pastor, please help me. I'm confused.

Q.B.

Dear Q.B.,

Don't be silly. This man that you say loves you has already established a family. He lives with his children's mother and his children are living there with them.

He tells you that he loves you; he probably does, but that does not mean that you should encourage him in your life.

He is either going to ruin your life or destroy his family. So, please, do not encourage this man in your life.

I am sure you wouldn't want to have children by a man and be living with him and another girl becomes emotionally involved with him.

You wouldn't like that for yourself. So, what you don't like for yourself, don't do so to another woman. Say no to this man and do so right away.
