Caught mommy with the village pervert
Dear Pastor,
I commend you on the wonderful advice you've been giving. I have been a regular reader of your column ever since I was a teenager, but it's my first time writing to you.
I am a 29-year-old woman who's in need of your fatherly advice.
When I was 14, my mother was doing some additional work on a room, so she hired this man from the community to do the work.
But this man had some fault because he's someone who would remove his penis from his pants and play with it if he saw a woman.
It seems as if it's a family problem because all his sons did the same thing too.
Long story short, pastor, my mom sent me to the shop and it seems I returned too quickly because when I came back, I saw my mom and the man coming from behind the door and the man was pulling up my mother's shorts for her.
I did not eat or talk to her for weeks and it really affected me to this day because even now I still wonder why she did something like that.
Confused
Dear Confused,
You are 29 years old and you are old enough to talk to your mother. You could tell your mother what you saw and that although you knew that as an adult she was able to do whatever pleased her, you were disappointed to know that she had sexual intercourse with this man.
Your mother might curse you and tell you that you should mind your own business, and what you suspected happened did not happen.
I will say to you, be very careful what you say to your mother. You should try your best to build a good relationship with her.
So, ponder this matter carefully and ask yourself the question: would your mother consider what you say to her as a rebuke? There are some things in life that you should leave alone.
But if this matter has bothered you for such a long time, you may approach your mother in the spirit of love and talk to her about it.
Pastor
