Had sex while I was on my period

October 17, 2019

Dear Pastor,

I am 18 years old and I have a boyfriend who is almost 18, and every Saturday we meet.

We started innocently by just meeting as social friends because we like each other's company. But then, we spent more and more time together.

He comes to my house because I live with my mother and she works on Saturdays as a day's worker. She goes out early Saturday mornings and she doesn't come home until about six.

My boyfriend comes to the house and we have sex. One day he came and I told him that we couldn't have sex because I was seeing my menses.

He started to play with my breasts and I was turned on. So, we went into the bathroom and had sex under the shower.

It was a crazy thing to do. We said that we would not make the period prevent us from having a good time.

I told one of my friends what we did and she said I was nasty, because when a woman is seeing her period, she should not have sex.

Is there anything wrong with that? My boyfriend put on the condom, so why is that nasty?

Please answer my letter.

C.K.

Dear C.K.,

It is unfortunate that you have been spending so much time with this young man while your mother is out working so very hard as a helper to support you.

She trusts you and I am sure she does not expect you, to have your boyfriend come to the house and have sex with you while she is either washing, scrubbing the floor or doing other things to earn a living.

You could use your Saturdays much better than to have your man having sex with you while your mother has gone to work.

I know that some doctors have said that there is nothing wrong if couples have sex while the woman is seeing her period.

In fact, some sex therapists and some doctors have argued that there are great benefits to women if they have sex while they are seeing their period. Others have strictly condemned it.

Your girlfriend has cursed you and called you nasty because you told her that you had sex with your boyfriend while you were seeing your period.

You have to learn to keep your mouth shut. She might not even keep that private; she might tell others, and they may look down on you.

The Bible says in the book of Leviticus 18:19, " Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period ."

This is therefore very clear that God forbid such an activity. Therefore, you have no excuse for having sex while seeing your period.
