A wake-up call

May 19, 2020

Dear Pastor,

Greetings to you. You asked if there is justice for the poor in Jamaica. Well, to be honest, somehow there are good people and bad people, and the bad are all over the world.

People are dying, and some of us have got a wake-up call because sometimes we take life for granted. But I was surprised to see that poor people are now noticed and are getting some help, including some old people. That is very good.

I only hope that when the coronavirus has passed, there will still be help for the old and poor people, especially in Jamaica. I am happy to see that the Government is providing food and shelter for the homeless.

Why did it have to take this disease to happen before these poor, helpless people got help of this nature? I only hope that they will keep up the good work and continue after the virus has passed.

This is a wake-up call all over the world. I was very saddened by what happened to the unfortunate pregnant woman who lost her life after giving birth. My condolences to her family.

Please keep up your good work and keep me in your prayers. Yes, the coronavirus is definitely a wake-up call as we are now drawing closer to Jehovah. God bless you.

V.

Dear V.,

I just want you to know that apart from the Government, many organisations have been helping the poor and needy. People on a whole are helping each other to cope.

I am observing that in times of crisis, the Jamaican people always help each other. Crisis sometimes brings out the best in people. There are those who criticise and say enough is not being done, but such people never extend a helping hand.

Concerning the young woman who died after giving birth, the prime minister of Jamaica has promised the nation that the matter would be investigated thoroughly.

Thank you for your concern, and continue to encourage and help those who are in need.
