I am starting to fear my boyfriend

May 27, 2020

Dear Pastor

This is my second letter to you and I am asking you to give me some advice. I hope you may understand what I am saying to you. I am living with my boyfriend and I try to do everything to please him but he is never satisfied. He is always grumbling and saying we should not be living together.

I told him to take me back to my parents because he was the first man for me. And when he got me pregnant, he took me out of my parents' home and promised my mother that he will take care of me. When I was four months pregnant I lost the pregnancy, and since then life has not been the same for me.

This man is always finding faults. Sometimes he sits down staring into space, and I am getting to be afraid of him. I spoke to his mother and she told me that he needs to go to the doctor. I told him I would accompany him to the doctor he said nothing is wrong with him. He believes that someone has put an evil spirit on him because they do not want him to make progress. He recently lost his job and that has made life even more difficult for us. I am only 20 years old and he is only 25 years old.

K.E.

Dear K.E.,

Ask this man to take you back to your parents' home. He took you from there and the relationship between the both of you have gone sour. You lost your baby and he lost his job, so both of you can't help each other very much.

You need to go home and this man should seek professional help. He can begin by going to see a medical practitioner. He does not want to go because he believes that someone has obeahed him, and that is very unfortunate. I repeat, tell him you want to go home. And if he refuses to take you home, tell your parents or your older siblings (if you have any) to come and rescue you.

Pastor.
