My Christian husband sending nudes to other females

April 07, 2021

Dear Pastor,

I have been married for five years. I lived with my husband for three years before we got married. He was a persistent charmer when we were courting. What convinced me to marry him was his care and consideration, not only for me but also for others.

He was very helpful and he showed much interest in our family business. When I met him I spelt out everything to him. My feelings, my likes, my dislikes and my goals. He told me how he felt also. He was a cane cutter. I am a practical nurse. I helped him to get all his important documents. He did not have a national ID, a TRN or birth certificate.

We are now having problems from all angles. He is currently doing construction work and so he is not always working. I have to be paying all the bills and I am stretching my pay to make ends meet because he mostly spends his money on phone cards and dry food (which he alone eats). He leaves home early, even when he is not working and comes home late, even when there is curfew. I have exercised patience. Whenever he is home and I am at work, I would asked him to cook before I come home, but it is usually when I get home that he starts cooking.

We are both baptised. He is not managing his social life. He watches pornography and joins groups on his phone in which they share naked photos of each other. He even sends his naked photos to young ladies in the community. I have talked to him about all these things and his response was it was his phone and his money. These are not all my woes.

I would love our marriage to work but I don't know what to do or say to him anymore. COVID-19 has prevented us from meeting with our church pastor. I would appreciate your advice.

Child of God

Dear Child of God,

This man has deceived you but it is not too late to kick him out of your life. You describe yourself as child of God but it is time for you, as a child of God, to wake up. This man does not respect you. He sees you as a fool. You have been totally deceived by him, so bring this relationship to an end. Do so as early as possible. Go see a lawyer.
