Unlucky husband can get remarried without sinning

Dear Pastor,

Good day, I read the article (' Caught my wife in bed with Joe') that you published. The writer divorced his wife after finding her in bed with another man and now wants to marry someone else, yet the pastor at his church says he does not believe in divorce.

Please advise the writer (if it pleases you) that according to Matthew 19:9, which says that " But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery upon her."

According to that verse, the Bible allows him to divorce her because he found her in bed with another man, i.e. sexual immorality.

He can be free to marry the woman he has found. His pastor's own beliefs, which are not in line with the Word, should not hold him back or make him feel guilty.

Please share with him so that the truth of the Word of God can set him free. I am writing to you from South Africa.

Thank you for your comments. I want you to bear in mind, however, that divorce and remarriage is the most controversial topic in many churches, including many mainstream denominations. They differ on the very passage that you have quoted. But your interpretation is observed and I want you to know that many will disagree with you and many will agree.
